Capital for the step to production
We focus on plant, equipment, construction, production start-up, and working capital when conventional debt is unavailable or raising equity would require giving up too much ownership.
Goldwheel Trading AG · Baar, Switzerland
GoldWheel advances US$5m to US$100m to selected gold, copper, lead, and silver producers. In return, we agree to buy a defined share of future output. You keep the asset.
For producers with a defined deposit, an experienced team, and a credible route to first production
Discuss production financeOur focus
We review gold, copper, lead, and silver projects that can answer five questions clearly: what will be produced, how production will start, who will deliver it, what the advance will fund, and where the project sits.
See the full criteriaWe do not fund exploration or drilling programmes, and we do not take equity or board seats. If you are still proving the resource, we are the wrong call. Come back when you know what you can produce.
What we do
GoldWheel provides capital before first production. If a project is approved, we agree the advance and the purchase of future metal together. The producer retains the asset and delivers the agreed share of production at the price and on the schedule set out in the contract.
How the model worksWhy GoldWheel
GoldWheel is a Swiss trading company rather than a generalist lender. We assess the operating plan and the route to market together, so the structure starts with what the project can produce and deliver.
Our return comes from the metal itself. That aligns the advance with production milestones and lets us agree terms around product quality, pricing, logistics, and delivery, without a transfer of ownership or a board seat.
Production finance
GoldWheel considers advances from US$5m to US$100m. Each one is tied to an agreed purchase of future production and sized against a documented use of funds rather than your balance sheet.
We focus on plant, equipment, construction, production start-up, and working capital when conventional debt is unavailable or raising equity would require giving up too much ownership.
We assess the project, operating plan, company ownership, sanctions and compliance checks, and supporting documents. Complete information produces a faster answer.
We address the funding amount, how the metal will be priced, delivery obligations, timetable, and key risks before either side signs the final contracts.
How we assess a project
Illustrative example
A hypothetical case, invented to show the mechanics. Our agreements are confidential, so this is not a past or present GoldWheel transaction and every figure below is made up. Real terms are set project by project.
A producer holds a defined oxide gold deposit with a completed feasibility study and a granted mining licence. It needs US$12m: US$8m for the crushing and leach circuit, US$4m of working capital to carry the crew through to first pour eleven months out.
GoldWheel advances the US$12m in drawdowns tied to construction milestones. The producer commits its gold output to GoldWheel under an offtake running to the end of the mine life, priced against the LBMA fix less an agreed discount, delivered to a refinery both sides accept.
The producer keeps 100% of the licence and the company. No equity is issued and no board seat changes hands. The advance is recovered from metal deliveries. If output slips, the contract sets out in advance what happens rather than leaving it to a renegotiation.
How we work
We begin with grade, output, logistics, power, permits, team capability, and the timetable to first delivery.
Market, operating, country, legal, and company risks inform both the decision and the terms. We prefer an early no to a late renegotiation.
